Tailored Applications for Every Winter Need

Anti-icing

For anti-icing treatments, an application rate is between 18-30 gallons per lane mile/1.45 acres/63,162 square feet. ECO-SHIELD significantly improves brine’s melting capacity and keeps it on the pavement surface much longer, highly extending its melting power. As a strong anti-icer, ECO-SHIELD prevents snow and ice from bonding to pavement surfaces at lower temperatures.

Deicing

Depending on snowpack thickness, 50-plus gallons per lane mile/1.45 acres/63,162 square feet is recommended. When applied using direct stream nozzles, ECO-SHIELD penetrates the snowpack and alleviates snow and ice’s bond with the pavement surface faster than traditional brine and rock salt. This assists snow and ice management experts’ on-site efficiency and decreases the amount of chemicals required to produce bare pavement.

Pre-Wetting

Depending upon use and performance objective, ECO-SHIELD can be applied at a rate of 5-15 gallons per ton of granular material. When added at the spinner, ECO-SHIELD improves the rate at which rock salt penetrates the snowpack, especially at lower temperatures. In addition, it reduces bounce and scatter rates, increasing rock salt’s effectiveness and reducing waste.

Stockpile Treatment

ECO-SHIELD is an effective stockpile treatment at a rate of 20% to brine, which improves its viscosity. Treating with 4-6 gallons per ton of granular material enhances performance while reducing bounce and scatter. Due to ECO-SHIELD’s corrosion-inhibitive properties, treated salt and brine are less corrosive to infrastructure and equipment.
